Arriving at Giunti Odeon is the new film by Bong Joon-ho, the Korean master director of the cult film Parasite, winner of 4 Academy Awards. Starring a stellar cast (Robert Pattinson, Mark Ruffallo, Toni Collette) and just presented at the Berlin Film Festival, the film is set in 2054: the lack of opportunities on Earth drives the masses to interstellar pilgrimage, which inevitably means exploitation by the powerful demagogues at the helm of these expeditions. One of them is Kenneth Marshall, a failed politician seeking a new era for humanity on an inhospitable planet inhabited by strange creatures. In order to escape dangerous moneylenders, Mickey Barnes agrees to board the spaceship by signing a contract as an expendable, a handyman destined to die repeatedly thanks to a technology that allows a body to be ‘reprinted’ indefinitely while maintaining its consciousness.
