The new masterpiece by animation master Hayao Miyazaki. Jun'ichi Honda is a minute fifteen-year-old boy in the seventh grade. Although he is fatherless, he lives in a loving family and enjoys the important presence of his mother's brother, who acts as a mentor for him. Through the young boy's everyday experiences at school with his three friends Mizutani, Kitami and Urakawa, the four boys gradually understand how the value of friendship is expressed in reality, the sincere curiosity aroused by spending time with each other, social differences, the difficulty of upholding values such as courage or facing the scourge of bullying, experiencing it at first hand.
